Partial opening of the Pesciüm ski area at the weekend
Valbianca SA announces that despite the critical snow conditions, on Saturday 15 January it will finally be able to open part of the lifts: the Pesciüm sector will be partially open and only on weekends. The offer will be completed by gastronomy and some open air activities to allow those who wish to spend a nice day in the mountains.
Valbianca SA announces that from Saturday, January 15, and only on weekends, the lifts of Airolo-Pesciüm will be back in operation. However, the ski area will only be open to a limited extent due to the snowfalls that are still decidedly insufficient to allow optimal snow cover for the entire area.
The lowering of temperatures in recent days and the consequent possibility of continuing with the snowmaking program now allow Valbianca to open the Tappetino (H), the Pony Lift (G) and the so-called "Sciliftino" (C) and "Sciliftone" (D) (up to the height of the Sciliftino) - MAP. Unfortunately, the morphology of the terrain and the means currently available do not allow for more extensive snowmaking.
Skiing enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer before they can set off down the resort's most challenging slopes, but Valbianca believes it is important to open at least part of the ski area to ensure that loyal customers, season ticket holders and youngsters can enjoy a great day outdoors.
For this reason, in addition to skiing, some other activities will be proposed to enjoy the mountains. In particular, there will be the possibility to walk with snowshoes on some new paths, usually not practicable on foot, the track for inflatable boats next to the tappetino will be reproposed and a small new track will be prepared where children can sledge and have fun on the snow.
This will be complemented by the opening of the Stüa for a short break between outdoor activities and a delicious à la carte lunch. A covid 2G certificate is compulsory for those over 16 years of age to consume inside. A covid 2G certificate is not required for outdoor consumption, but a mask must be worn if you go inside the premises or in the indoor areas accessible to the public.
We would also like to remind you that cable car reservations are no longer required. Most of the other protective measures remain in place, in particular compliance with increased hygiene standards, as well as the requirement to wear a mask (from 12 years of age) in the cable car departure area, in the indoor and outdoor waiting areas, on the cable cars, in all indoor buildings and where social distances cannot be guaranteed (e.g. queues at the lifts).
On these first opening days the basic Dynamic Price prices will apply: CHF 31 (adults), CHF 28 (students/adults), CHF 25 (young people 13-17 years), CHF 20 (children 6-12 years). If you don't want to ski, you can buy a return cable car ride for CHF 22 (adults), CHF 20 (students/adults), CHF 18 (young people 13-17 years), CHF 13 (children 6-12 years).
Finally, we would like to mention the Fondue package for CHF 35, which includes a return trip by cable car and a fondue lunch at the La Stüa restaurant.
In the hope that the long-awaited snow will arrive soon, with this effort Valbianca wants to give a sign of normality to its loyal customers and offer them a moment of leisure at this difficult time for everyone.
