Sense of freedom, adrenaline, loneliness: discovering freeride in Airolo!
We are pleased to offer you a technical and practical course aimed at those who want to improve their knowledge of off-piste skiing or those who do not yet know this world. The day includes a theoretical part, research exercises at our ATC center and in the afternoon practice on the field. In the company of a guide, you can discover the freeride in Airolo.

08.30 - 09.00 Collection of tickets (at the ticket office n°1 at the departure station)
09.00 - 09.10 Ascent by cable-car
09.15 - 10.00 Technical introduction to research (at the SSSS Châlet in Pesciüm)
10.15 - 12.00 People search exercises (at the ATC centre in Pesciüm)
13.15 - 16.00 Off-track practice
Cost: CHF 90.- (ascent, ski pass and lunch not included)
Shovel, ARVA and probe rental CHF 30.- (on reservation)

Goal:
To improve the safety of freeriders by teaching them basic concepts of avalanche danger, knowledge of snow, how to behave in the event of avalanches and the appropriate equipment.
Targer: skiers
Content:
Basic avalanche danger instruction. Interpretation of the avalanche bulletin, knowledge of the snowpack structure, planning of the Freeride routes, avalanche risk assessment, risk reduction. Knowledge and instruction ARVA research. Technique and methods of ARVA research, knowledge of other devices, use of the probe and shovel. Field exercises and multiple search. Technical instruction for off-piste use. From basic technique on the track to off-piste. Information on the rules of conduct for the off-piste. Main rules of conduct to avoid disturbance to wildlife and in general to protected areas (Ruhezone).
